Elizabeth Rimmer
Chief Executive Officer
LawCare
Elizabeth Rimmer is the CEO of LawCare, the mental health charity for the UK legal sector. She started her working life as a solicitor specialising in clinical negligence, practicing at Leigh Day. Elizabeth joined LawCare from the Institute of Group Analysis, a membership and training organisation for group psychotherapists. Before that she headed up Alzheimer’s Disease International, a worldwide federation of Alzheimer associations.
She is Co-Chair of the Helplines Partnership (national charity for support and advice services) and a member of the International Bar Association’s Professional Wellbeing Commission and chairs the Commission’s regulatory and ethics committee.

John Hyde

Law Society Gazette
John Hyde is now recognised as one of the leading legal journalists in the country, with a reputation for breaking important stories and standing up for the sector in the face of attacks from other sections of the media.
In the last two years he has won plaudits for his reporting of the Post Office Inquiry, becoming an authority on the scandal and the role of lawyers.
John has hosted numerous events and conferences and been a regular contributor on the BBC, as well as writing articles for the Independent and politics.co.uk.

Mark Evans
President
The Law Society of England & Wales
Mark Evans is the President of the Law Society of England and Wales, which is currently celebrating its bicentennial year. He represents North Wales.
​
Mark practised property and private client law for more than 28 years. He worked in North Wales and Chester. ​
Currently, he teaches various courses on real estate, private client and professional skills at the University of Law.​
Mark was a member of the Law Society Wales Committee for nine years and acted as chair for four of those years. He is a Council member for Cheshire & North Wales Law Society and the founder of Legal Runners.

Dr Bronwen Williams JP MStJ
Academic Director for Law, Criminology & Policing
University Wales Trinity Saint David
Bronwen Williams JP MStJ has worked in higher education for 17 years; she is currently the Academic Director for Law, Criminology and Policing at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. Bronwen is a magistrate for the West Glamorgan Bench and a member of the Magistrates' Association.​​
Bronwen works with many external agencies linked to these subject areas to design and develop programmes to help prepare students for the workplace. She has been working with the Law Society to bring Legal
Apprenticeships to Wales for over 10 years and is now part of a campaign to secure funded Level 7 Legal Apprenticeships in Wales.

Sahra-Marie Tulloch

Sahra is one of the Account Directors at Conscious Solutions and has been with the business for over seven years.
Before joining the Conscious team, Sahra spent over six years working within a law firm, initially as a fee-earner before moving into marketing, so she understands the challenges and pressures law firms face. Sahra is always offering her clients practical solutions and advice to help them get more from their digital marketing.

Conscious Solutions has over 20 years of experience in helping law firms become more successful online. It only works with law firms but caters for firms of all sizes to help them design, build, run, and maximise the return on investment of their digital marketing.

John Cullen

John is a partner and licensed insolvency practitioner in the Menzies Business Recovery team, working with corporate clients of all sizes and types to address their financial challenges. He works across all sectors but have specific expertise in regulated industries and the public sector.

Throughout his career, John has advised on members’ and creditors’ voluntary liquidations, administrations, company voluntary arrangements, bankruptcy matters and individual voluntary arrangements.

He is most proud of being able to formulate and lead Menzies towards achieving its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion goals.

Liz Withers
Head of Consumer Policy & Welsh Affairs
The Solicitors Regulation Authority
Liz was appointed the SRA’s first Head of Welsh Affairs Officer 2021 and spearheaded the opening of the SRA office in Cardiff in 2022.
Liz leads lead the SRA’s public affairs and stakeholder engagement activities in Wales, including strengthening our understanding of the Welsh legal landscape and working with local consumer groups. Prior to the SRA Liz worked in a number of high-profile public affairs roles within Wales including for Citizens Advice Cymru, the Equality and Human Rights Commission, National Autistic Society and Consumer Focus (Wales).

Angela Hesketh
Head of Government & Public Affairs (UK)
PEXA
Angela is Head of Government & Public Affairs (UK) at PEXA and a dual-qualified conveyancer with extensive experience across residential property law, legal practice and market reform. She brings a strong understanding of the operational and consumer challenges facing the conveyancing sector.
After beginning her career in practice, Angela transitioned into consultancy, advising startups and established organisations on digital transformation and the modernisation of conveyancing processes, with a focus on improving efficiency, transparency and security.
In her current role, Angela works closely with government, regulators and industry bodies to support the continued evolution of a secure, efficient and trusted property market.
Angela holds several senior industry and independent roles, including Executive Member of the Open Property Data Association, Co-Chair of the Digital Identity Working Group of the Digital Property Market Steering Group, and professional member of the CILEX Disciplinary Tribunal. She is also an active participant in the Home Buying and Selling Council.

Liz Hitchings
General Counsel
Development Bank of Wales
Liz Hitchings is General Counsel at Development Bank of Wales (DBW), heading up the in-house Legal Services Team and providing legal advice across the DBW group.
Liz joined DBW in 2021 after working as a corporate lawyer in private practice for over 20 years.

Dr. Sally Penni MBE
Barrister &
Founder / Chair of Women in Law UK
Sally is a high profile award winning Barrister.
Outside of this role she is also a Public Speaker, Radio Broadcaster & Contributor, Diversity Leader, Patron and Board Member, keen fund raiser for charities and most importantly a proud mother of three.

Sally founded Women in Law UK, and leads on, champions and supports a wide range of diversity related initiatives and projects. This is done as voluntary work across a number of diversity strands (such as gender, ethnicity and social background & well being at the Bar.) She is passionate in her support for Women in Business and leadership and has written about diversity and related issues.
Believing in the need to start early she provides free, inspirational talks to thousands of school children and university students annually as well as leadership mentoring & coaching to students and young professionals in her spare time. Sally is also a school governor.

Huw Williams
Chief Legal Adviser

After sending his early career in local government, Huw was a partner at Geldards LLP for over 30 years, where he was the Lead Partner (Public Law) and Senior Partner in the firm’s Cardiff office. He has been the Chief Legal Adviser to the Senedd since 2019.
Huw is a past Chair of Legal Wales and of Public Law Wales, and the Conference Programme Director for the prestigious Legal Wales Conference. He was a longstanding member of the Law Society’s Planning and Environment Law Committee and the Wales Committee and was an inaugural member of the Law Society's National Board for Wales.
Huw’s other external roles have included serving as a Trustee of both the National Museum of Wales and of the National Library of Wales, and the Company Secretary of the Wales Millennium Centre.

Gus Williams

Gus Williams is currently serving as Chief Executive of Chambers Wales South East, South West, and Mid, and plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth and fostering business connectivity across Wales. His strategic vision supports the Chamber’s mission to inform, promote, and connect businesses in an increasingly dynamic marketplace. Before joining Chambers Wales in October 2024, Gus has held several senior leadership roles in financial services, including Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Head of Risk, Governance, and Compliance. In addition to his professional commitments, Gus is passionate about social impact. He serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for Autistic Minds UK, where he champions economic empowerment and inclusion for neurodivergent individuals.

Damon Rands CISSP is a cyber security expert, with over 30 years in the Information security industry.
Damon is the founder of PureCyber, who have recently been named 'Most Innovative Cyber Security Company in the UK', 'Best International Cyber Security Consultancy Firm in the UK' and named as the highest placed cyber security organisation in the UK Fast Growth Index 2024.
Headquartered in UK and operating in over 85 countries, Damon leads a team of 50 employees who are cyber experts with a broad spectrum of specialist knowledge of the latest trends, technologies, and attack vectors.
Damon is a member of several advisory boards across education and government, helping shape cyber resilience and education standards for the nation.

Kirsty Pappin

Kirsty is a seasoned operations leader and award-winning legal practice manager with over 20 years of experience in the legal industry, having worked across both UK and US firms. This diverse background has equipped her with unique insights into law firm operations, enabling her to assist SME firms in enhancing efficiency and embracing innovation.
In 2023, Kirsty founded Aries Legal Practice Management, a consultancy dedicated to supporting law firms in various aspects of business and operations, tailored to meet the specific needs of law firms.
